I’m Stuart from SKR Plumbing & Heating. I’m a sole trader based in Orpington, working mainly between Orpington, Bromley and BR7. Most days I’m either on a contractor’s refurb project or sorting out the kind of plumbing issues that make everyday life awkward – no hot water, dodgy flushes, tired bathrooms and old boilers that have had enough.

SKR Plumbing & Heating officially launched in 2020, but I’ve been on the tools for years with other firms before deciding to work directly with local contractors and homeowners.
One of the first calls I took as SKR was from a family in Orpington who had no cold water in their bathroom. They’d been manually filling the toilet cistern with buckets. They’d found me on Google, saw the early reviews and decided to take a chance.
I got the quote over the next day, shuffled the diary and found a slot because I knew how inconvenient that situation was. The repair was straightforward but the impact on their daily life was huge – and they later wrote that if you’re reading their review, you can “look no further, you’ve found the plumber you need”. That’s how I try to treat every job.
These days I split my time between contractor projects – full bathroom refurbs, first and second fix plumbing – and the everyday jobs that keep homes running smoothly: leaks, boiler swaps, tired bathrooms and awkward faults other people haven’t managed to solve.
Anyone can say they’re “reliable”. For me, it means answering the phone, telling you honestly when I can get there, and leaving you feeling calmer than when you called – whether you’re a contractor with a deadline or a family with no water.
If we’ve agreed a time, I treat it like a promise. On contractor jobs that means first fix is done when you’ve told your client it’ll be done; for homeowners it means not waiting around all day wondering if I’ll show up.
Whether it’s pipework hidden behind walls or the final tile around a new shower, I work as if I’m going to be back in a few years to service it. I’d rather take an extra hour now than be called back because something was rushed.
If something unexpected shows up – rotten joists, weird pipe runs, poor pressure – I’ll flag it immediately and keep your project moving instead of walking off site and leaving you to explain the delay.
Dust sheets, shoe covers and a sweep-up at the end are standard. I’m in and out of people’s homes every day, and I work the way I’d want someone to work in mine.
You’ll know what you’re paying for before I start. For bigger jobs I’ll break things into stages. If something genuinely changes on site, I’ll explain why before touching it.
When something fails suddenly – leaks, no water, heating gone – I’ll always do my best to shuffle the diary or at least help you make it safe until I can get there.

Yes. For bathroom projects and contractor work I can usually give a good indication from drawings, WhatsApp photos and a quick call. For anything more involved I’ll pop over, check the existing setup and then send a clear written quote.
If a problem is down to my workmanship, I’ll come back and put it right. Products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranties and I’ll help you with that where needed.
I can’t promise I’m available every minute of the day, but I do offer call-outs. If I can’t get there immediately, I’ll do my best to talk you through isolating the problem and keeping things safe until I arrive.
